Sikh Punjabi Wedding at Hyatt Regency Sacramento
We planned and coordinated Harveen and Sushil’s Sikh Punjabi wedding in downtown Sacramento, bringing together traditional Sikh wedding customs, personal touches, and an unforgettable reception at Hyatt Regency Sacramento. Photography by Paige Mackenzie.
The couple celebrated their Punjabi heritage in traditional wedding attire. Harveen wore a richly embroidered red bridal lehenga with gold jewelry, while Sushil wore an ivory sherwani and red turban. Their wedding celebration honored their cultural traditions while incorporating meaningful details that reflected their personalities.
For the reception, Harveen changed into a stunning royal blue lehenga and envisioned a romantic setting filled with hundreds of candles. The reception design featured elegant white floral centerpieces, soft ivory draping, and a custom black checkered dance floor wrap that became the centerpiece of the evening.
The couple wanted their guests to feel special from the moment they arrived. Each guest was served a cocktail directly at their seat, with a choice between Harveen’s espresso martini featuring a custom drink topper or Sushil’s signature Old Fashioned.
Music played an important role throughout the celebration. The couple flew in a pianist from London who performed instrumental versions of 1980s favorites and Bollywood music, creating a unique atmosphere for their reception. One of the evening’s highlights was a surprise Michael Jackson dance performance by the groom and the children, bringing excitement and plenty of smiles to the dance floor.
To end the night, Harveen and Sushil surprised their guests with Taco Bell, a personal tribute to the place where they had their very first date. It was a fun and meaningful way to close out their wedding celebration.
From the hundreds of candles and personalized cocktails to the live piano music, choreographed performances, and late-night Taco Bell, every detail reflected Harveen and Sushil’s story.
